Lady Windermere’s Fan
By Oscar Wilde. Directed by Kortney Curtis. November 13–22, free, at the Pavilion at Fate Station.
The play
A comedy of good people behaving badly.
Lady Windermere learns that her husband has been giving money to Mrs. Erlynne, a woman with a reputation. When he insists on inviting Mrs. Erlynne to his wife’s birthday ball, Lady Windermere has to decide what she believes, and what she is willing to risk.
Oscar Wilde’s first society comedy opened at the St James’s Theatre in London in 1892, and it is as quick and funny as anything he wrote.
Performances
Six performances over two weekends, before Thanksgiving. Free and outdoors at the Pavilion at Fate Station, the paved area by Sauce & Vine: bring a chair or a blanket. Donations are happily accepted.
